Family
Family is truly a strong force. Sometimes I feel like it could be easier without them, as there would no longer be the grasp that seems to restrain you from giving in to everything you want to do and say in your life. On the other hand, they provide so much that is necessary to survive in this world. Think of all of the advantages we have due to our families, and it doesn't stop with our parents, I am talking way back, following the lineage down its line. Inheritance is an incredible thing, and it is important to remember that they do hold meaning. Even a simple pair of black dress shoes that happened to fit are to be thankful for. This weekend reminded me that, while there may be a lot of different ideologies and thoughts on life, family can get over there differences and sympathize once again. It is difficult to be the only one smiling at a grave, but I feel like I may burst with happiness at the thought that my grandfather, Nicholas Pasquale Miceli, came to see six generations of this family, and left with his thoughts in order and mind at ease. A proud and gentle man, the last full blooded Italian, his legacy will continue on through myself and those to come.
